Identity Design
In 2021 the Goldstein Museum of Design featured an exhibit titled “Plastic Rapt: A History of Designing Forever”, focusing on the design of plastic objects from the modern to contemporary periods. The identity I designed for the exhibit highlights the contrast between plastic the material and plastic the medium; where the colorful and bendy letters and forms represent the finished, molded design and the black, static bars represent the empty vessel for creativity that plastic begins as.
Entirely type-led, the design makes use of A2Z Faucet, a typeface with wobbly alternates that perfectly complement the concept. Even the monochrome pieces are made from the letter “I”. These pieces also act as a container, flexing to fit the general proportion of any container through repetition.
